More travelling

Just in case anyone is in Chicago and would like to break into my apartment and steal my stuff, I'll be gone this weekend and travelling to lovely Dubuque Iowa for a wedding of one of my college friends. Good times. I even wrapped a wedding present for the first time myself. Not the easiest thing to do. I'll post a picture maybe. After my Mom gave me very confusing verbally-based advice over the phone on how to do it, she said in the end that it would be cute if my present appears to have been wrapped by myself... being a guy, and women revelling in being better that males in that sort of thing. Chicks have a little trouble controlling their irrational emotional outbursts though. Very fragile creatures worth only to objectify.

Ah, male superiority. I saw a rather obscure movie last night called In the Company of Men that addresses rampant destructive male chauvinism. For your information this movie was made in 1997, and contained the joke "I don't trust anything that bleeds for 10 days and doesn't die", two whole years before Mr. Head made that yarn in the South Park movie. So Trey Parker and Matt Stone aren't that original, or maybe that joke is older than time itself. I just thought by typing that joke out I'd make this post edgy. I mean, you don't know what will come next from me.

At work today, just as my mind was melting from working on this one assignment for 10 or so days straight, someone gave me a one day thing to research and it made the day go by really well. I think I would be good at multitasking if anyone gave me enough stuff to do. I had two huge papers to write in about 4 days and while it was miserable writing them, I alternated between working only on paper A and only on paper B, on the first/third and second/fourth days respectively. And it worked out, I got two As and one B grade wise. A. B. B. A. B. Confusing you? whatever.

Anyway, to my knowledge everyone at this Dubuque wedding that I know might be coming will be formally or informally coupled, which I truly hope doesn't make me uncomfortable. Looking at some photos of me a tad bit red-faced at the last wedding of a college friend I went to, I might have reached for the conveniently located centerpiece of a champagne bottle a little too much, so I will have to get up and do the Chicken Dance and Electric Slide as much as possible and avoid drowning my sorrows during the couples dance by going to the bathroom or something.

Or... now just maybe... see this is a Catholic wedding... and if a friend of a friend of a relative happens to show up... and she's Jewish and is just totally alienated by all the prevalent Christianity and she's lost looking for something familiar in this small city devoid of Jews... well it's not likely to happen but you can imagine can't you. And there's also a riverboat casino!

ANYWAY, this weekend isn't about me, it's about my friend Jennifer and the groom Tim (nice guy, not a college friend though) getting together, so happiness all around.

See you guys later. Have a nice holiday weekend!

Comments:
Hello Mr. J,

This is moi, Marcie, and Vy leaving a hello to you! We were glad to see you at the wedding, and in response to the other comment, sadly there was not a buffet of Jewish girls. We are currently in the position of being able to black mail you, especially doing your crazy little dance with Vy. We have this on video and now we know you are a little nuts. Can we post this to your site and let the world see your dance moves? He-hee...
